Hi I have been in Peninsula Valdes last year in January. It was nice and interesting but no in the right season. This year I wan to go again in October and wonder if I can drive around and see some of the attractions and whenever a cruise is needed to take one.

You can fly to Trelew and rent a car from the airport. It’s best to visit Peninsula Valdes by car and allow youself few days to visit this place for the many interesting wildlife. You can stay at Puerto Piramides in the Peninsula. Check the high tide at Punta Norte and be there 2-3 hours before and stay 2-3 hours after the high tide, to see the unforgettable orca stranding. You can see orca catching baby sea lions if you are lucky. Go back for another day if you can’t see any. Besides, you can see many other wildlife like armadillo, elephant seal, penguins, guanaco, and many others. By seeing orca swimming so close to the shore itself is a marvellous experience, to see orca stranding for baby sea lions will be a bonus.
Hi, does anybody have any recommendation for an affordable private tour to Peninsula Valdes? I am looking at being at Caleta Valdes with high tie to maybe be able to see orcas on Nov 2nd. Due to tie timeschedule regular tours won't make it and renting a car is also difficult due to weekend times. I have been in Valdes previously and done tour and whale watching so this time I was hoping to see killer whales. Any suggestions are welcome

The good area to see orca stranding is at Punta Norte, normally we need to wait there two hour before and 2 hours after the high tide. You can’t just go there for a while. So it is difficult to follow tour. It’s best to rent a car from airport and allow at least two days or more, just in case you can’t see on the first day. We saw orcas stranding on the second day at Punta Norte at very closed distance for two times. This is an experience of a life time.
