Went as a couple. Disgustingly fascinating. Doesn’t seem like a normal couples’ activity but was such good fun! Only took us about an hour but still great.Full review by H8866EPdavidt

Q:
We have a small well behaved dog with us. Can we go around your museum?
A:
Honestly don’t know. I only own really badly behaved dogs so I can’t go anywhere. I envy you!

Q:
Can you book and buy tickets in advance or is that not necessary?
A:
Not necessary when I went in October. Plus it's open late so you can leave it for later and go to sights that close earlier in the day.
Q:
Hi approximately how long does it take to get round the museum?
A:
1hr to 1hr 30 if you read everything on display.

Dear visitors and readers, Alain from the museum's front desk here ,-) When entering the museum, people often have in mind that a torture museum must be something like the London Dungeon, Halloween our the Manor House in Disneyland : attractions or events that are meant to scare the hell out of you, adults or children. The spookier, the funnier ;-) In fact we are not like that, but a classic, historical museum : there are artefacts on display and lots of informative texts (in 7 languages) about medieval torture, the context of how the law was assured and respected in medieval times. Medieval life was though and sometimes cruel : poverty, diseases and plagues that could not be cured, wars, religeous fanatism and superstition, crime... and punishment, torture, death penalty. That's what we show in our museum. The rest I can explain to you at our front desk. I look forward to meeting all of you, no mather your age :-). See you, Alain - Front desk Torture Museum
