President Trump said the effort to create a more robust digital health ecosystem will give providers and patients more streamlined access to health information.

The Trump administration on Wednesday said it has secured commitments from more than 60 health and information technology companies to participate in a plan to make Medicare patient data more accessible.

In June, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. testified in a congressional hearing about how he sees “wearables” like smart watches as a game changer in health care.
