By Linda Bordoni Thousands of young people gathered at Rate Field, home of the Chicago White Sox Major League Baseball team, on Saturday, June 14, for a joyful celebration organised by the Archdiocese of Chicago to honour the recent election of their native son, Pope Leo XIV.
The Holy Father asked for the intercession of Our Lady, Queen of Peace before praying his first Angelus in the square in Latin and urging his listeners to pray for the end of conflicts in different parts of the world.
Pope Leo XIV addressed the faithful with his thoughts about the "many armed conflicts" happening in the world during the traditional Angelus prayer he held on Sunday (June 15) in St Peter's Square.
