Canada’s government has forced Air Canada and the union representing flight attendants into arbitration after a work stoppage stranded more than 100,000 travelers around the world during the peak summer travel season.
Several Air Canada customers visited the Regina International Airport on Saturday to try and sort out flights later in the week. On Saturday afternoon flight attendants were called back to work after Jobs Minister Patty Hajdu invoked binding arbitration.
The strike, which is expected to disrupt travel plans for more than 100,000 passengers, is the flight attendants' first since 1985.
