Ahead of Tesla's planned launch of a robotaxi service in Austin this June, the company is testing ride-hailing with employees in the driver's seat in Texas and California. The EV maker posted on X Wednesday that a ride-hailing service using its driver assistance system known as "Full Self-Driving" is live for Tesla employees in Austin and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Tesla will launch its first robotaxi service in Austin, Texas, in June, CEO Elon Musk told investors on the company’s April 22 earnings call. Tesla vehicles are being tested on the streets of Austin now, Musk said, “to make sure that we deliver a safe product.”
