New FBI Director Kash Patel was sworn in Monday as acting chief of the federal bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, taking the helm of two separate and sprawling Justice Department agencies,

Patel is set to lead an agency that's been a frequent target of Republicans, including an effort to abolish it altogether.

Kash Patel has been sworn in as the FBI director, calling the opportunity to lead the nation’s premier federal law enforcement agency the “greatest honor” of his life.
