Michail Antonio has vowed to make a return to high-level football as he continues to recover from December's horrific car crash which left him with a serious leg break. Antonio, who turns 35 later this month,

"I didn't want to be seen," Antonio told the BBC. "I almost died and it made me embarrassed that it was that bad."

In the hour-long, exclusive interview, Antonio revealed that a change of manager at West Ham shortly after his crash deeply affected him and led to his search for more therapy. The 34-year-old striker is also certain he will be back playing his best football but wants to take his time during his recovery to avoid and setbacks.
