In one of the most surprising turns, right after the release of the highly anticipated Happy Gilmore 2, the original Happy Gilmore seems to be departing Netflix. The first film is set to leave soon, showcasing a bizarre example of licensing issues in the streaming era.

Netflix and Spotify teamed up to launch a golf-inspired game as a way to promote “Happy Gilmore 2,” which premieres on Netflix this Friday.

The Colorado native appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2018, and has since become a content creator focusing on various golf issues, providing golf advice and pushing back over LGPA dress code changes among other things.

Happy Gilmore 2 finally premiered on Netflix after a decades-long gap from the first movie, but this time, the movie went in an offbeat direction with a major death within the first half of the film.
