SUNRISE, Fla. – An uncharacteristic slump in the second period proved too costly for the Florida Panthers in a 4-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks at Amerant Bank Arena on Monday. Taking control of the game, the Sharks scored three times in a span of 5:22 in the second.

Matthew Tkachuk returned for his first game of the season, but the Florida Panthers fell 4-1 to the San Jose Sharks.

Defenseman Vincent Desharnais has been activated off injured reserve and will be in the San Jose Sharks’ lineup for Monday’s game against Matthew Tkachuk and the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers at Amerant Bank Arena.
