MILWAUKEE — If you have an I-Pass transponder for the Illinois Tollway, beware of a scam. Customers have been receiving text messages saying they owe money on their account.

According to the Illinois Tollway, the $10 transponder deposit will be transferred into the customer’s I-PASS toll account once their new sticker tag is registered with the account.

And once you have your registered I-PASS account with the corresponding sticker on your windshield, you’ll be ready to use it on the Illinois Tollway, the Chicago Skyway and other E-ZPass roadways.
