After adding another chapter of success to its rich cricketing history, India captain Rohit Sharma gave a special mention to silent hero Shreyas Iyer, who has been a source of stability in the star-studded middle order.

Rohit Sharma finally produced an innings of note after a series of starts, posting 76 with Shreyas Iyer rescuing India from a wobble with a fine 48 as India defeated New Zealand by four wickets after being set a competitive 252 to win at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

New Zealand beat India 3-0 in a test series in its own backyard, a feat never registered before. India went on to lose in Australia. Both series defeats cost India a spot in the World Test Championship final. It has only gained little redemption in reaching the Champions Trophy final here.
