The owner of the plane said the two aboard were a company flight instructor and a student, both in their mid-20s.

Search efforts out of New Orleans continue Tuesday for a plane that went down in Lake Pontchartrain Monday night.

"At this stage, our focus remains on locating and recovering all evidence connected to the missing aircraft," NOPD officer Reese Harper said in an emailed statement.
