Pakistan slumped to a nine-wicket defeat in the first Twenty20 against New Zealand in Christchurch on Sunday after failing to defend a meagre score of 91. Pakistan's previous lowest T20 score in New Zealand was 101 in a 95-run loss in Wellington in 2016.

Pacers Jacob Duffy's four-wicket haul and Kyle Jamieson's three-fer helped New Zealand bowl out Pakistan for 91 in series opener.

A new era for Pakistan white ball cricket got off to a rough start Sunday with a nine wicket loss to New Zealand in the first of five Twenty20 internationals.
