As part of the Rainbow Six Siege X update coming June 10, the tactical FPS will enter what Ubisoft calls "free access." The majority of Siege will be free to access, but its two most competitive modes, Ranked and Siege Cup, will remain behind a paywall.

To participate in the Siege X closed beta, you just need to watch any Twitch stream with drops. Watch a stream for at least 30 minutes to have a chance of getting the drop. To gain access to the Rainbow Six Siege X closed beta, you must earn it through Twitch Drops. You must visit the official Rainbow 6 Twitch channel and watch any of the content creator’s Twitchsteams list there. Ensure you have your Twitch account linked, or you will not be able to earn the Twitch Drop reward.

With the launch of Rainbow Six Siege X, the game will essentially go free-to-play, with access to Dual Front, Unranked and Quick Play modes and the ability to "earn up to 26 operators through progression", Ubisoft says.
