R-Truth's quick return to WWE involved direct negotiations with one of the company's top executives. Fightful Select (via Steve Carrier of Ringside News) reported Truth initially seemed to be a little reticent to engage with WWE in the days after his exit. However, "things opened up" when WWE president Nick Khan entered the picture.

As far as Killings making his return at Money in the Bank, that was a Paul "Triple H" Levesque call, who ironically was the man who made the final decision on letting Killings run down his contract in the first place.
