Baseball is often a young man's game. But don't count out the old guys, even on the sport's biggest stage. Every once in a while, a starting pitcher in his late 30s -- perhaps even in his early 40s -- starts and wins a World Series game.

Derek Jeter isn’t itching to get back on the baseball diamond. While the Yankees great has remained a part of the game as a broadcaster on Fox’s MLB coverage — and previously as a minority owner and CEO of the Marlins — he seemed to go out of his way on Tuesday to mention that he did not miss the game while on “The Herd with Colin Cowherd.”

That is why there are many Yankees fans who would welcome the addition of Bichette. He is close to as good a defender, but the big difference is that Bichette is one of the best-hitting shortstops in the game. The one issue is that he has started to become injury-prone over the last three seasons.
