Italy's Flavio Cobolli won the biggest title of his career when he upset third seed Andrey Rublev 6-2 6-4 to win the Hamburg Open on Saturday.

Italian Flavio Cobolli has won the Hamburg clay title on the eve of the start of the French Open. The 23-year-old surprised number three seed Andrey Rublev of Russia 6-2, 6-4 on Saturday.

The 35th-ranked Italian player saved six of the seven break points he faced — including two at 5-4 in the second set — to beat the 17th-ranked Rublev, who was playing in his third Hamburg final. Rublev won in 2020.
