North Texas sees mild temps and sunshine Wednesday, with highs reaching into the upper 70s before a cold front brings a slight chance of rain.

According to the National Weather Service, these were the five coldest days in North Texas. A severe arctic blast affected much of the country during the first half of February in 1899. Temperatures fell below zero in every state. A century later, records from that coldest day remain unchallenged.

A dense fog advisory is in effect for counties east of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex until 10 a.m. Tuesday.

There will be morning fog to the east Wednesday before a cold front moves through knocking highs from the 70s to the 60s.
