In Friday's medal events, Team USA picked up another gold medal in the men's Freestyle Skiing halfpipe final, where Alex Ferreira finally captured gold to complete his set after winning silver and bronze in 2018 and 2022. The name of Laila Edwards will be front and center in communities of color if the United States wins the gold medal in Olympic Women’s Hockey. Edwards, a defender from Cleveland Heights, Ohio, is the first Black woman to play for the U.S. Olympic Women’s Ice Hockey team.

Veteran pilot Kaillie Armbruster Humphries and rookie push athlete Jasmine Jones collected another medal for Team USA in the two-woman bobsled.

Canada is on the board in the 2026 Winter Olympics. With Sidney Crosby and Marie-Philip Poulin waiting in the wings, more hardware could be on the horizon.
