A new burst of arctic air was on the way, and there is an "increasing potential of another significant winter storm" for Eastern states this weekend, the National Weather Service said.

The US is anticipating a huge winter storm, and college athletics are being rescheduled as a result.

On Sunday at 11:57 p.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated winter storm warning in effect until Monday at noon for Mercer, Venango, Lawrence, Butler, Beaver, Allegheny, Washington and Greene counties.

Several parts of Texas are under a winter weather advisory, including counties east of El Paso, Dallas, Austin, and areas north of San Antonio.

The NYC area is bracing for a major winter storm that's set to hit the region with heavy snow on top of dangerous, subfreezing weather.

South Carolina remains in a state of emergency and winter weather advisory as precipitation ends and cold temps are expected to linger through the week.

An Arctic airmass is moving into Florida, bringing some of the coldest air of the season. Florida may have missed the snow, ice and sleet from the winter storm that slapped states from New Mexico to New England, but that doesn't mean the Sunshine State will escape unscathed.
