Moog's classic synthesizer is now an official iPhone and iPad app with new features like polyphony, preset browser and looper.

These apps typically aren't cheap, as MusicRadar points out. Model 15 usually costs $30, Animoog retails at $20, Minimoog Model D is $15 as standard and Moog tends to charge $5 for Filatron.

The company has this week announced that the Moog Minimoog Model D synthesiser is now available to load onto iOS devices in the form of a $5 application.

Moog doesn't see the app as something that will get people to run out and buy the Minimoog Model D.

The Model 15 app works well considering it’s a touch screen, so if you’re worried about dropping $30 on ill-made app, rest assured, it works much better than you’d expect.
