According to Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger, the SEC and Big Ten are aiming to alter how teams in the CFP are seeded and how first-round byes are awarded.

In a report from Ross Dellenger of Yahoo Sports, the College Football Playoff format of 12-teams could be changing once again.

The Big Ten and SEC are among the latter. They rule college football these days because of the television contracts and revenue those two monster conferences bring in. And now, it appears as though the two are looking to steer expansion of the College Football Playoff from 12 teams to 14 or 16 according to a report from Yahoo Sports' Ross Dellenger.
