The Internal Revenue Service hasn’t issued comprehensive guidance on how the estimated 27 million Americans earning income as influencers should report their income and expenses on their tax returns.

Humans are so creative, so persistent. Take thieves, frauds and scammers. As long as there are dollars in someone’s bank account, there are other people devising ways to siphon those dollars and claim them as their own.

A shortage of IRS workers could lead to a bevy of problems for taxpayers. It could also intrigue people to not report their entire income to the IRS.
