The Texas Agriculture Commissioner, Sid Miller, called on the Governor and the State Legislature to institute a statewide ban on fluoride and other non-water additives.

Longwood commissioners unanimously agreed Monday to end a decades-long practice of adding fluoride to the city’s drinking water supply — becoming the latest in Central Florida to do so. Before the vote, Mayor Matthew McMillan said it comes down to a simple question: “What’s the role of our utility? It’s to supply water.”

The measure, introduced in the state House, includes numerous issues related to the state Department of Agriculture. Many local governments have ended fluoridation in recent months.
