In his first words directed specifically to Americans, Pope Leo XIV told young people on Saturday how to find hope and meaning in their lives through God and in service to others.

The new Pope Leo XIV called for peace around the world in his first Pentecost address on Sunday. Speaking to tens of thousands of people in St Peter's Square, the first US-born head of the Catholic Church emphasized that peace must come from the heart.

The South Side native’s message was aimed particularly at young people. “That restlessness you feel in your hearts, we shouldn't look for ways to put out the fire, to numb ourselves to the difficulties we feel,
