Heavy rain forced a suspension of play during the final round of the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont with Sam Burns leading by one stroke over Adam Scott.

Sam Burns gives another back, pushing him to +1 and ... into a traffic jam atop the leaderboard. Whoa ohhh ohh ohh ohh, hangin' tough. J.J. Spaun, he of the brutal off-the-stick approach earlier in the round and five bogeys on the front, is just one back after a long birdie at 12.

The 2015 PGA champion battled a wrist injury in the lead-up to the tournament, after a neck problem caused him grief as he missed the cut at the PGA Championship, but showed no signs of inhibition on Friday as he made four birdies and an eagle.

The first round of the 2025 U.S. Open lived up to the billing, as Oakmont Country Club yielded only 10 rounds under par despite ideal conditions on Thursday, with an average score near 5 over par.  The round of the day belonged to J.
