An apple juice recall includes more than 170,000 bottles produced by Martinelli's. See which Iowa retailers carried the recalled juice.

According to the FDA, the recall is due to the potential presence of patulin, a toxin mainly found in rotting apples. Patulin contamination can occur in a variety of apple products, including apple juice, sauce, puree, ciders or baby food. Consuming contaminated products can cause nausea, gastrointestinal issues and vomiting.

The recall was issued due to potential contamination with a naturally occurring toxin often associated with rotten apples.
