A storm system rolling through the Bay Area Wednesday has triggered a severe thunderstorm warning for San Francisco and parts of the Peninsula.

Storms in the Green Bay area are being considered severe, as winds could be as high as 32 miles per hour on Friday, as well as 36 miles per hour Saturday afternoon. Gusts up to 45 mile per hour are possible at times.

A major shift in weather is on the horizon for the Bay Area, with a powerful storm system forecast to bring heavy rain, strong winds and potential thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.
