The final round of the 2025 Open Championship at Royal Portrush features Scottie Scheffler trying to convert a four-shot lead into his first Claret Jug and fourth career major title. Scheffler put distance between himself and the field with a Saturday 67 to reach 14 under, four clear of Haotong Li (-10) in second.

Finau made double bogey on holes 5 and 14 to dash any chance he had of finishing in the Top 10 if not Top 20 at the Open Championship.

With Scottie Scheffler holding a four-shot lead through 54 holes, the final round of the 2025 British Open seems like a foregone conclusion. Even for those competing against the World No. 1. But at least one golf fan is confident that there will be a final-round comeback.

If McIlroy didn’t quite deliver, then Royal Portrush — where he shot 61 as a 16-year-old for the course record — certainly did, gaining widespread rave reviews.
