Apple released the first beta of iOS 18.4 last week. Alongside the new features, CarPlay got a big improvement users have wanted forever.

A third row of apps has appeared on some user's infotainment systems following the recent iOS 18.4 beta update.

Last week saw Apple release the iOS 18.4 beta to developers, giving us a taste of what’s coming once the update actually arrives later this year. We’ve already seen a bunch of new features like new languages for Siri and an Ambient Music option.

The first beta of iOS 18.4 is now available, and it includes a small but useful change for CarPlay. As we noted in our list of iOS 18.4

Spotted by Jace on Threads, CarPlay in iOS 18.4 can now include a third row of app icons – up from two. This means that CarPlay will now better take advantage of larger built-in car displays.

The first beta of iOS 18.4 was seeded to developers on Friday, and the new seed includes a small but notable change for CarPlay.
