Heavy lake effect snow continues to fall across portions of Chicagoland this afternoon. The heaviest bands will shift from northeast Illinois to northwest Indiana this evening.

A winter system is slated to move into the Chicago area beginning Saturday night, bringing a widespread round of snow and potentially hazardous conditions. While impacts will vary depending on location, most of the region will likely see accumulating snow.
