In an email and social media post, Jeff Bezos outlined dramatic changes to The Washington Post’s opinions section, and announced that opinions editor David Shipley has resigned.

Washington Post owner Jeff Bezos on Wednesday announced a “significant shift” to the publisher’s opinion page that led David Shipley, the paper’s editorial page editor, to leave the paper.

David Shipley, the editor-in-charge for the Opinions segment at The Washington Post, has stepped down after owner Jeff Bezos introduced a new policy at the news outlet. Shipley's decision to leave came “after reflection on how I can best move forward in the profession I love.
