KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV)—Mother nature has added insult to injury with 1 - 3 inches of snow accumulation atop already snow-packed roadways Friday. The mix has some Kansas City-area school districts canceling classes for now the fifth and final day this week.

A light snow event is expected to move through the Kansas City area late Thursday into early Friday morning, with accumulations ranging from a dusting to up to three inches in some locations. A Winter Weather Advisory is in place from 5 p.m. tonight until 9 a.m. tomorrow.
