BOSTON (Reuters) -A federal judge is standing by her decision to block the implementation of a provision in U.S. President Donald Trump's recently passed tax and spending bill that would prevent Planned Parenthood health centers from receiving Medicaid funding.

Defunding Planned Parenthood is really an attempt to take away access to abortion in states where it is legal,” said one leader of the women’s health care organization.

A federal judge on Monday temporarily blocked the Trump administration from barring Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood under a provision of Republicans' sweeping tax and spending package.
