A mass shooting erupted Saturday evening during a child's birthday party at a banquet hall just north of Stockton's city limits. The gunfire erupted shortly before 6 p.m., according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office.

Three children were among the four people killed, the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office said. The victims were 8, 9, 14, and 21 years old.
