Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott said Wednesday that tackling redrawing the state's congressional maps would be part of an special legislative session later this summer as Republicans seek to hold on to their narrow U.

Abbott’s lengthy agenda for the Texas Legislature includes unfinished business, such as eliminating the STAAR test, and conservative priorities.

The Texas Legislature will consider 18 agenda items when the special session begins on July 21, including relief funding for the Hill Country flooding.
