Costco Executive Members Can Enjoy This New Perk

The retail wholesaler announced Wednesday to its members via email that starting on Monday, June 30, executive members will be able to access Costco warehouses starting at 9 a.m.
Costco stores typically open at 10 a.m. on weekdays and Sundays, and at 9:30 a.m. on Saturdays. Once the new policy goes into effect, Costco Executive Members will be able to enter stores and shop as early as 9 a.m. each day, giving them an extra hour of private shopping on weekdays and Sundays.
If you’re an Executive Member at Costco, you’ll now be able to shop earlier than everyone else. Starting Monday, June 30, customers who pay for the highest-level membership at the big-box store will be granted access to the aisles one hour earlier than their Gold Star counterparts.
Most Costco members will probably tell you that there are both pros and cons to shopping at the warehouse club stores. The upside, of course, is scoring bargain prices on bulk items, not to mention getting access to interesting new products on a regular basis.
Costco is currently testing a “Scan and Go” system. It is similar to the program that Sam’s Club uses, enabling customers to scan items with their phones using the Costco app and pay that way, instead of having to wait in line.
Costco is thanking some of its customers for their loyalty with a new perk. Unfortunately, the perk will not apply to all customers, but only customers who pay for the highest-level membership.
Costco has been testing checkout technology it hopes will speed up the checkout process, something members rank as one of their significant concerns with the warehouse retailer.
While Costco has a clear plan in place to both retain and attract members, the company is constantly reevaluating its strategy.
