Jennifer Rutland, Mrs Foreman’s mother, revealed that the family had warned the couple not to travel to Iran because of the high risk of arrest and danger the regime poses to British citizens.

Lindsay and Craig Foreman, both in their 50s, were traveling the world by motorcycle. Iranian state media said two Britons were accused of “security crimes.”

They entered Iran while they were travelling across the world on motorbikes, heading for Australia.
