Rite Aid’s massive collapse continues with 19 more Pennsylvania stores now on the company’s closure list. The stores are among the 125 stores on the latest list. The latest round of store closures for Rite Aid adds to the hundreds of locations previously announced as the pharmacy chain navigates its second bankruptcy filing.

Bankrupt pharmacy chain Rite Aid revealed a number of new store closings this week in a court filing, bringing the total to almost 500.

More than 20 Washington stores added on back-to-back lists filed last week in bankruptcy court; four of those are in Pierce County.

CVS Pharmacy said that it has agreed to acquire the prescription files of 625 Rite Aid pharmacies across 15 states in areas that CVS serves, as well as acquire and operate 64 Rite Aid stores in Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Giant Eagle has agreed to buy the prescription files of 78 Rite Aid pharmacies in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Rite Aid has announced a new wave of store closures nationwide after filing for bankruptcy for a second time on May 5. According to recent court filings, several locations in California — including two in the Modesto area — are set to close.

As part of its ongoing bankruptcy, Rite Aid recently added several more stores to its closure list, including two in Spokane.
