A 9-year-old child died after visiting the water park in Pennsylvania’s Hersheypark, the company has confirmed.
Officials said the child was in distress at The Boardwalk, the park’s themed water attraction, and lifeguards attempted life-saving efforts.

Hersheypark formally opened on Memorial Day, May 30, 1906 along the banks of Spring Creek. It was the perfect spot for picnicking, boating, and canoeing. In 1971, the park started a five-year conversion from a regional amusement park to one of America's most popular theme parks.
