FREMONT - Despite rain, the "No Kings Nationwide Day of Defiance" protest on June 14 was the largest anti-Trump administration event in Fremont this year. “Hey-Hey-Ho-Ho Donald Trump has got to go!” chanted the more than 250 protesters, who occupied all four corners of West State and Front streets in downtown Fremont.

Around 2,000 protests and rallies were planned nationwide, with thousands of people also attending staged “No Kings” events in Manitowoc, Sheboygan and Green Bay. Rallies were canceled in Minnesota out of caution following shootings targeting local lawmakers.

Protesters held signs that read, “No kings since 1776,” “Bad Things Happen When Good People Do Nothing,” “Stop the Parade Fund Medicaid,” “When cruelty becomes normal compassion looks radical” and “Make Orwell Fiction Again.”
