Teresa Youngblut, 21, from Washington state, has been charged with two weapons-related offenses in connection to the death of 44-year-old U.S. Border Patrol agent David Maland. The agent was killed last Monday during a shootout in Coventry, Vermont, a small town located about 20 miles from the Canadian border.
Suspects in fatal shooting of Border Patrol agent were staying at Newport hotel
The Department of Homeland Security on Tuesday confirmed that David Maland, 44, a Swanton Sector Border Patrol agent died in the line of duty. It happened on Interstate 91 around 3:15 p.m. near the Coventry-Newport town line. Sources tell WCAX Maland was shot in the neck during the traffic stop and died from his injuries.
