U.S. District Judge Adam B. Abelson granted a preliminary injunction, which blocks parts of Trump’s directives to cancel federal contracts related to DEI as well as make government contractors verify that will they not engage in DEI practices that violate anti-discrimination laws.

A federal judge has largely blocked sweeping executive orders from President Donald Trump that sought to end government support for programs promoting diversity, equity and inclusion.

The plaintiffs argued that the president’s edicts against diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives exceeded his authority and violate their constitutional right to due process.
