Nov 11, 2024 · ETF’s have a special mechanism that allows them to avoid distributing capital gains. And Vanguard mutual funds with an ETF share class can also take advantage of that mechanism. Note that there are only two ETF’s in Vanguard’s document that are estimated to distribute capital gains, and their percentages are very small.

Vanguard's managed account products are inexpensive, so one's heirs couldn't go too wrong sticking with them and using their managed account products (Vanguard Portfolio Advisory Services). Dec 30, 2024 · I have not done this at Vanguard, but another custodian. The new Vanguard brokerage accounts with their settlement accounts and T + 1 settlement dates may cause you problems now. I have been playing it safer this year, using only settlement or core cash accounts, and the "immediate transfer" is done at least one day ahead.

Apr 14, 2021 · Vanguard offers the use of hardware keys (Yubikey) but since they allow a SMS backup, it doesn't provide any additional security. Nov 26, 2024 · Use Vanguard, unless Vanguard tells you to use something different. Use the address that Vanguard tells you to use. I thinks it’s in Texas. For both of the above, tell Vanguard that you are sending money to them and the approximate amount. There’s a button for that on the Vanguard website. They will give you the above info.
