Alur is a Luo language, categorized under the Western Nilotic family. It is natively spoken in Uganda and DRC. In Uganda, the Alur speakers are found in West Nile region, in Pakwach, Nebbi, Zombo, Paidha etc. In DRC, they are found in Mahgi.
