Cape Town’s beloved roaming Elephant seal has arrived safely at Kalk Bay Harbour! Yesterday, this gentle giant was spotted far from the sea, wandering down Sir Lowry’s Pass Road in Gordon’s Bay. Here is the 'Seven Gill Cow Shark' that we saw on yesterday's trip. It was also the answer to Tuesdays Trivia question. We are seeing this species of Shark more in the bay. They are known to be fiesty if under attack from predators, and have been seen retaliating against Orcas in New Zealand. Unlike most Shark species they have 7 Gill slits rather, than the standard 5 Gill slits. Evidence links them back to Jurrasic times, their round bodies, with a broad wide nose and comb-shaped teeth haven't
