Israel said Friday it was not seeking to destroy the Palestinian people, as it hit back at what it called a "profoundly distorted" genocide case against it by South Africa at the UN's top court. South Africa wants judges to force Israel to "immediately" stop Israel's military operations in Gaza. The ICJ will likely rule within a matter of weeks on South Africa's request.
