I recently sent two of my Starrett No. 711 Last Word indicators up to Athol to have repaired. Both of them were in my grandad’s tool box but I’m not 100% sure if they were his since they don’t have his initials on them. But since they have always been in his upper tool box I’ve always just considered them to be his and was also used by my Dad. Over the past couple of months I’ve been testing the @starrett_tools M1 oil on the machines and bare metal surfaces. It’s working excellent on the Cnc and manual machines after their run to help displace the water in the coolant and leave a protective barrier on the surfaces to prevent corrosion. I’ve been finding it very useful for tools as well, like the CAT40 and CAT50 tool holders and even hand tools.
