Hmong people have been in Minnesota since the late 1970s, but many of their stories are yet to be documented. For over 20 years, Shia Yang has witnessed events in the Hmong Minnesota community and has captured them through his photography. In 2015, several of artist Shia Yang’s pieces were featured by the Minnesota Historical Society in our exhibit “WE ARE HMONG,” commemorating the 40th year of Hmong in Minnesota.
